OUR STORY
Originally established by the Placentia Presbyterian Church in 1989, HIS-OC (formerly HIS House) has grown to provide a continuum of care to meet the unique needs of the homeless and impoverished community. In 2020, HIS-OC transitioned to Homeless Intervention Services of Orange County (HIS-OC). Since its inception, HIS-OC has provided shelter and supportive services to more than 5,000 homeless men, women, and children. HIS-OC provides the following services: Homeless Outreach and Prevention Services: Community outreach program for the homeless and impoverished individuals throughout North Orange County. Programs include: information and referral services, weekly soup kitchen, food and hygiene kit distribution, and housing navigation. Housing Navigation Services: The Housing Navigation program provides the support that homeless individuals and families need in order to successfully transition from living on the street to thriving in homes of their own. Transitional Housing Programs: Stable housing and supportive services for homeless men, women, and children to empower them to regain self-sufficiency. A total of 54 beds are available in North Orange County.
