DOUBLE YOUR IMPACT – HELP END HOMELESSNESS FOR OC’S MOST VULNERABLE
Imagine a woman in her late 70s, a retired preschool teacher, who becomes the victim of an abusive, predatory landlord. She is kicked out of her apartment, loses most of her belongings, and suddenly finds herself homeless. That is what happened to Nancy and her dog Pippa.
Nancy spent several weeks couch surfing and sleeping in motels until she ran out of money. Traumatized, she reached out to WISEPlace. In just four weeks, we secured Nancy a housing voucher, security deposit, furnishings, and moved her and Pippa into a safe apartment!
For nearly 100 years, WISEPlace has been a beacon of hope for unaccompanied women like Nancy who are experiencing homelessness. We provide the most vulnerable in our community with safe shelter, counseling, mental health services, case management, addiction recovery, and employment assistance to help rebuild their lives.
