The Grandma's House of Hope Story

OUR MISSION:   We provide vulnerable adults experiencing homelessness in Orange County with emergency and transitional housing to regain stability, well-being, and lasting self-sufficiency.  Our 11 shelter homes, nestled in Orange County residential neighborhoods, offer a safe, warm, and healing environment where participants can begin to rebuild their lives.

RESCUED & RESTORED HOUSING:    We pair trauma-sensitive housing with comprehensive wraparound services, helping adults move from crisis to stability and ultimately achieve long-term independence in housing of their own.

WHO WE SERVE:   Each year, we serve approximately 350 individuals who are victims of crime and/or human & sex trafficking, have mental health challenges, substance use disorder, are physically disabled, re-entering society from jail or prison, and are seniors.  The true measure of our impact is found in the depth of care we provide.  We prioritize intensive, individualized support, addressing complex trauma, mental health challenges, addiction, employment readiness, and housing stability, because lasting transformation requires more than shelter alone.

UPON ENTERING OUR PROGRAM:    Participants complete a thorough assessment and work closely with a dedicated Case Manager and Housing Navigator to develop a personalized plan focused on safety, stability, and self-sufficiency.  Immediate needs such as food, clothing, hygiene supplies, transportation, and access to medical or behavioral health care are met to establish a foundation for recovery.

PARTICIPANTS RECEIVE:   Intensive case management, crisis intervention, substance use disorder counseling, life-skills training, financial literacy education, and guidance in developing healthy relationships.  Employment resources, job readiness training, and workforce connections support long-term economic stability, while Housing Navigators guide participants through every step of securing permanent housing, including landlord engagement, application preparation, credit repair, and legal or financial support when needed.

OUR COMMITMENT:   Continues after participants transition to permanent housing.  Up to two years of AfterCare Services, including ongoing case management, SUD counseling, home visits, and engagement with our alumni network, Grandma’s Family Tree, ensure long-term housing stability and empower participants to thrive independently.

YOUR SUPPORT:   Philanthropic support bridges the $750,000+ gap between government funding and rising operational costs, including rent increases and essential program expenses.  Your investment ensures we can maintain high-quality, uninterrupted, and intensive services that move individuals from crisis to hope, independence, and lasting transformation.
